This site is a side project for me as you might notice from the no. of posts. And until I use the other PODs I can’t really give advice about them. At the moment I don’t have time to maintain my own POD shops so even though I have given the heads up about various developments in the “big three” and a few others, I haven’t had the time to act on them myself.

The site is called POD Helper but is about helping the shopkeepers rather than the PODs. They are big boys with marketing teams. They don’t need me. At the moment I think that if you want to make money at a POD you need to stick to the big three so perhaps I am doing what I set out to.

I do see you point though.

I think it would be nice if you would investigate PODs besides the big 3 that we already know about. People are asking you for this info because this is called “POD helper.” So why not help the lesser known PODs to get known and help SKs know what other options are out there. That would be a valuable service to provide and probably up your readership/subscription rate by 1000 percent.

It’s a pity that CAFEPRESS call on designers and when we submit, they send out a generalised email thanking us for our submission but saying that they already have enough to contend with…

Best to advertise that they have enough designs so that people can surf the net in the hope to donate their designs to other organisations who will accept and use them for the purpose intended.

May those in Haiti who died, rest in peace – God bless all those trying to help the dying and injured…

We just launched Domain Mapping, which would get around the google base restriction similar to the myPFstore Gavin posted about. With Domain Mapping, the URLs are on your own domain so the store looks (and is) completely separate from Printfection. Spreadshirt is a good place – I have been there for awhile – you can earn 20% commission on a designer (customize your own clothes) shop – you also get to have a shop with apparel you have created. As with many places, you set your own commission – you also get to place your designs “out there” for other shops to borrow. Spreadshirt keeps track of everything for you. Quite easy actually. Their base prices in some areas are kind of on the spendy side (my opinion) like hoodies – but the t-shirts, etc are your average price. $9.00 and up

I purchased myPFstore earlier this year and love it. Yes, it’s more expensive than CPShop, but well worth it, IMO. It made setting up an offsite shop VERY easy. It took me less than 30 minutes to have it up and running.
